A National Geographic photographer shoots between 20,000 and 60,000 images on assignment, from which about 12 are selected for publication. I don't shoot nearly that many images a year, but selecting images that I think represent my year's work is an exciting, emotional exercise. So, here are my top ten picks for 2011.
